I recently spent a short break at Grand Hotel Capodimonte, and overall, it was a lovely experience. The views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples were absolutely amazing, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. However, I did face a minor issue with loud music from a wedding party on my last night, which could have been handled better by management. Fortunately, they were willing to offer a discount, so all ended well.

My room had a beautiful view and was cleaned daily, but I did find the bathroom design a bit awkward. The shower's water pressure was weak, which was disappointing for a hotel of this caliber.

Breakfast was a standout, with an excellent variety and quality of food. I really enjoyed the option to swap dinner for lunch tokens, which allowed for flexibility during our stay.

Facilities were good, though the pool area could use more comfortable chairs and better access. The multi-level pool design was pretty unique and provided great views.

My stay at Grand Hotel Capodimonte was a mix of amazing views and disappointing service. The hotel’s location offered stunning panoramas of the Bay of Naples, but my room was facing a cliff wall, which really dampened the experience. The dining options were decent, yet rather pricey, and the hotel staff, while mostly attentive, included a reservations manager whose attitude left much to be desired.
Rooms

My room was intended to be a luxurious escape, yet it faced a wall, making it feel dark and uninviting. The cleanliness and decor were on point, but it lacked the expected views.
Service

While some staff members were friendly, the reservations manager was unhelpful and disconnected. It was disheartening, especially during such a special occasion as my wedding.

The hotel’s location was excellent, just a short walk from the center of Sorrento, providing convenient access to local attractions. The stunning views were definitely a highlight!
Dining

Food quality was fair, but the prices were high, which led me to dine out a few nights. Breakfast could have offered warmer options, and the presentation wasn’t the best I’ve experienced.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel’s common areas and pool were visually appealing, but the limited hours for the pool were a letdown. Plus, some amenities felt lacking compared to similar hotels.

I had a fantastic stay at the Grand Hotel Capodimonte in Sorrento. The amazing views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius truly added to my experience. While I appreciated the friendly and attentive service throughout my visit, I found the breakfast service could be improved, especially with drink orders. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for its stunning setting and quality amenities, despite minor areas for improvement. 🌅

The amazing views from my room and the overall location of Grand Hotel Capodimonte were highlights of my stay. it’s hard to beat that panorama of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. However, I was disappointed with the dining options, especially dinner; the food quality didn’t match the hotel’s price point. The pool area looks lovely, but the water was quite cold, which made it less inviting. Overall, there’s so much potential here, and while I would return for the views, I’d skip the half-board dining.
